Arnold Ernest Linton
1934-2018
Mr. Arnold Ernest Linton, of Castalia, Grand Manan, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital, on Wednesday evening, August 22, 2018, with his large family by his side.
Born in Castalia, Grand Manan, NB, where he lived all his life, was the son of the late Regionald and Agnes (Fillmore) Linton.
Arnold was a hardworking fisherman; he had a partnership with his brother Robert that lasted 48 years, retiring at age 70. Everyone knows where he lived, because the road marathons always started at Arnold Linton’s house. He was a life member of The Grand Manan Wildlife Association, an avid curler and gardener.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda (Ingersoll) Linton of Castalia, three daughters, Deborah Miller (Stephen) of Castalia; Lorraine Worthen (Norris) of North Head; Kathy Frost (Kevin Boynton Jr) of North Head; four sons Jeffery Linton (Kathylynn) of Cape Sable Island, NS; Grant Linton (Jennifer) of Castalia; Kevin Linton (Gloria) of Seal Cove; Bud Linton of Lower Sackville, NS; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Linton (Jacqueline) of Castalia; one sister-in-law, Joanne Robinson, of North Head, many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, one son Richard in 1981; three sisters Bertha, Madeline, and Audrey; two brothers Elson and Richard.
There will be visitation on Sunday evening, August 26, 2018 at The Lighthouse Church, Grand Harbour, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be from The Church on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
Donations in Arnold’s memory could be made to the Grand Manan Hospital Foundation, the Charlotte County Cancer Society, or to the donor’s choice.
