Iris May Ingersoll

INGERSOLL; IRIS MAY : 96; of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Born at North Head she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Annie ( Johnston ) Hatt of North Head. Mrs. Ingersoll was a very accomplished pianist, and enjoyed playing for everyone and especially her room mates at the Nursing Home until late 2004, when her health failed. She was a member of The Church of the Ascension, North Head and a member of the Ladies Auxillary Branch # 44, Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Manan, N.B.

She is survived by one son Eugene ( Barbara ) Ingersoll, Castalia, N.B., one sister Esther ( William ) Johnson, Saint John, as well as seven Grand Children, and two Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ingersoll was predeceased by her husband Lawrence , one son Gordon Ingersoll ( 1994 ). And six sisters Doris Rae Mawhinney, Marion Lank, Winnifred Delaney, Evelyn Allan, Phyllis Hepditch, and Hilda Hatt.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Friday, September 23rd, 2-4, 7-9 PM. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 24th, at 1:30 PM with Rev. Keith Osbourne officiating, interment to follow in the North Head Community Cemetery. Following the service there will be a reception for friends and relatives at the Covert Hall, North Head. Donations to the Church of the Ascension Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
