 MADELINE VIRGINIA BROWN
BROWN; MADELINE VIRGINIA: 85; of Seal Cove, Grand Manan, N.B. passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Thursday, after a lengthy illness. Born in Woodwards Cove she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Faye (Ingersoll) Monroe. Mrs. Brown was the bookkeeper for several years for General Marine and then upon her husbands death owned and operated the family business until selling it, after which she was employed by Connor Bros. (Seal Cove Plant) until her retirement in 1986. She was a faithful member of the Seal Cove Baptist Church where she participated in the Ladies missionary society and also as a Sunday School Teacher .

She is survived by one daughter Cheryl (Arthur) Brown, North Head, seven sisters Agnes Black, Thyra Plochl, Mary Graves, Helen Rose, Rose Harvey, Carol Guptill, Sylvia Cromie, four Grand Children, one Great Grand Child as well as many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was predeceased by her husband Wallie in 1964, one son Gregory in 1993, three sisters Marguerite Winchester, Alice Wilcox, Edith Parker, two brothers George and Theodore Monroe, and two baby grandsons.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Sunday, July 1st, 2-4, PM, 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Seal Cove Baptist Church on Monday, July 2nd, at 1:30 PM with Rev. Ron Ford officiating with interment to follow the service in the family plot Hillside Cemetery, Seal Cove. The family requests donations to the Seal Cove Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
