Leola Wormell

Mrs. Leola M. Wormell of North Head, Grand Manan Island, passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Tuesday, April 6th, 2010. Born in Castalia on July 6, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Ainley and Elva (Parker) Flagg. Mrs. Wormell raised her family along side of her husband Victor and worked in the fishing industry as a herring boner for many years. A member of the North Head Wesleyan Church and a Member of the Wesleyan Women’s Missionary Institute. She is survived by her two daughters; Nancy Wormell of Saint John, NB, Donna Zwicker of Sussex, NB, one son Wendell Wormell of Saint John, NB. One brother Roland Flagg (Flora) of Castalia, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Mrs. Wormell was predeceased by her Husband Victor (1995), her son Joel, six sisters; Belva Appleby, Lillian Trott, Beatrice Flagg, Iva Robichaud, Mary Stanley, and Kathleen Hatt . Four brothers Leroy, Glendon, Rex, and Fred.
Visiting will take place at the North Head Wesleyan Church Sunday from 7 … 9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the church on Monday April 12, 2010 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Jeff Benson officiating and Rev. Jasper Rideout assisting. The interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
