Frances Foster
Mrs. Frances Gertrude Foster of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan, passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Friday morning, July 23rd, 2010. Mrs. Foster was born at Grand Harbour and was the daughter of the late Earl and Lucy (Dakin) Ingersoll. Mrs. Foster was a very hard working lady and was involved in many community activities during her life. As well as being a devoted wife and mother, she clerked at Newton's Store, boned herring for several fish processing plants; she was a secretary and bookkeeper for her husbands business, Harbour Auto Sales, and later to his Electrical and Plumbing business. .She was a life member of The Grand Harbour Baptist Church where she devoted her time to serving the Lord as a teacher for the Adult Ladies Sunday School ,she was Past President of the United Baptist Missionary Society and served for several years as member and Past president of the of the Happy Hour Senior Citizens Club. of Grand Manan She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends in the community. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Foster of Riverview, one son Richard Foster ( Ellen ), Grand Harbour, three sisters Rev. Myrtle Ingersoll of North Head, Thelma Benson of Saint John, Marion Sellars of Pennfield, two Grand Children Peter Foster (Heidi), and Lorianne Sveinson (Svein) of Grand Harbour, and four Great Grandchildren Alison, and Emma Foster; Matthew, and Jerika Sveinson.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Sunday, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Grand Harbour Baptist Church on Monday, July 26th at 2. PM with Rev. Jeff Benson officiating and Rev. Perry Ingersoll assisting with interment to follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Castalia, N.B. Memorial donations to the Grand Harbour Baptist Church or The Atlantic Baptist Women’s Missionary Society.
