Jean J. Ingersoll

INGERSOLL: (1936 – 2011) Mrs Jean Josephine Ingersoll of St. Stephen N.B. passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital Friday June 24, 2011 with her family by her side. She was born at North Head Grand Manan Island the daughter of the late Gordon and Beatrice (Joy) Foster. Jean had many professions over the years including; being a licensed dog groomer, working in car sales and retail, and operating a fish market in the 70's. Also she was a member of the Pythian Sisters, Southern Cross Lodge #16. Jean enjoyed the simple things in life such as berry picking, traveling in her motorhome, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a woman of principal and had an independent spirit as she lived life HER WAY and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two sons; Richard (Ritchie) Ingersoll of Grand Harbour, and Maurice (Mo) Ingersoll of Woodwards Cove and her daughter Laureen Ingersoll of Castalia. Two sisters; Katherine Deveau of Saint John, and Mary Foster of Castalia, also three brothers; William Foster (Dorilla) of St. Stephen, Richard Foster (Claire) of Grand Harbour, and Gordon (Tommy) Foster (Gladys) of Alberta. Her grandchildren; Angela, Lindsay, Erica, Matthew, Kaleigh, a great grandson Griffin, and her beloved cat Who. She was predeceased by her husband Weldon, her daughter Angela, her son Norman, and three brothers John, Douglas, and Stephen.

The visiting hours for Jean’s immediate family and friends will be Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. The funeral service for Jean’s immediate family and close friends by her request will be held from Ells Funeral Home on Monday June 27, 2011 at 1:30 pm with Rev. George Clark  officiating, the interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME INC. 1199 Route 776, Grand Manan NB. E5G1G2.
