Alma Adelia Naves

Mrs. Alma A. Naves of North Head, Grand Manan Island, passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Wednesday evening August 22^nd, 2012. She was the first born of eleven children, the daughter of the late Ernest and Jenny (Beal) Bass. Alma lived a long fruitful life and lived life to the fullest. In her earlier years, Alma enjoyed the outdoors, camping, picnics, hiking and snowmobiling. She loved flowers, her gardens, quilting, board games, and especially ice cream.  She was always so appreciative of spending time with family and her many friends who in turn enjoyed her quick wit and forthrightness. A great cook, good sport, doer of countless good deeds, Alma was a humble woman, devoted mother, and grandmother as well as a loyal friend. She is survived by her children Norma (Lester) Neves; Allison (Janice) Naves both of Grand Manan; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and eight great, great grandchildren. Her sisters Alice Cook, Hazel Titus, brother Lester Bass, Three sisters-in-law Roberta Bass, Mary  Bass and Elizabeth Bass. She was predeceased by her husband Addison Naves, grand son Michael Naves, her brothers Charles, George, Harold, William and Sheldon Bass, as well as her sisters Margaret Locke and Frances Fleet. Visitation will take place at Ells Funeral Home Friday 2-4PM, and 7-9 PM.  The funeral service will be held from the North Head Wesleyan Church on Saturday August 25, 2012 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Jasper Rideout officiating, the interment will follow in the North Head Community Cemetery.  Donations can be made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, N. H.
